Downata Hot Springs

Since my sister and her family is up from Oregon we decided to go camping. We headed up to Downata Hot Springs in Idaho. The kids loved it! Other than the expensive swimming it was a blast. The kids loved to sleep in a tent, roast hot dogs and marshmallows, and just run around with the cousins. Tyler and Derek slept in their own tent...I can't believe how old he is getting! All and all it was fun!

It's Been Awhile!

This past few days....ok, two weeks, have been especially busy. Ever since the kids have gotten out of school it's been one thing after another! Tyler and Kylie did a sport's camp for two hours a day/four days a week/for two weeks. It helped introduce all the kids to different sports and how to play each game/have good sportsmanship. Tyler loved dodge ball and now wants to do a separate camp just for that. Kylie loved hockey, which was a surprise. I think it was a good transition into summer since they still had to get up and dressed but then they had the rest of the day to play! Tyler and Kylie have also been doing a movie every Monday with some friends. They play different kid movies all summer for only $5. Kenadie and Easton haven't been doing too much other than just playing. I made up a chore chart and they have a list of things they need to do everyday. If they do them then they make it on our sheet. At the end of the month they get an allowance (they have to pay tithing on) to spend on whatever. So far it has helped keep the mess in the house controlled somewhat. They have always had chores but when school's in I don't require as much. I knew I needed something that was more strict for summer! Kylie started Tee ball and has two games so far. She loves it and has been working on her hitting and catching. Tyler started Coaches Pitch with Eric as his coach. This has been both a good and bad thing. Eric likes to be with the kids but Tyler takes it as a opportunity to goof around more. Tyler just likes to be active no matter what it is. Yesterday he said to Eric, "I wish school wasn't out." He's a little bit like someone in the family.........
The other day Tyler told Eric he wanted a Mohawk. After we took this pic Tyler decided to just get it buzzed. I think he was a little embarrassed.

Sunday's are pretty low-key at our house. Since Eric is working and we have church at 11:15 we just hang out/get ready. This morning my kids all decided to make "Lego guns" and go around shooting.

I just wanted to let Eric know how much we appreciate him on Father's Day. He is the ultimate dad. He loves to play with his kids, he likes to teach them, he is funny, he is easy going, he's a hard worker, he is a good helper, he is a good example...most of the time. He does let some curse words slip, like everyday, but he always feels bad when our kids repeat them:) I love him so much, especially since I haven't been feeling good lately. He helps keep on top of things and is my best friend. Happy Father's Day!

Schreiber Party!

Eric's work had their Summer Party this Saturday at Merlin Olsen Park. They had about ten different bouncy area's, a rock climbing wall, big slide, etc. The kids all got balloon animals or I should say swords and crowns. We had hamburgers and hot dogs and all you could eat snow cones, cotton candy, and churro's. We ended up staying over three hours because the kids were having so much fun. Later that evening they had free swimming at the Aquatic Center. We were so tired that we only stayed 40 minutes but the kids still enjoyed it. WE LOVE SCHREIBER'S! They treat their employee's well and try to go out of their way to show it.

The kids are done with school! It is nice to be able to go places and do things without worrying about homework, etc. Tyler and Kylie are doing a sport's camp at the Rec center the firs two weeks of summer and doing a weekly movie at the theater. Coaches Pitch and Tee ball also start next week. Eric is coaching Tyler's team and Tyler is so excited. Eric is also playing softball once a week with some guys from work. It seems like every night we have something going on. Oh well, that is life with a bunch of kids!

Misc

It seems like this past week has been a whole lot of miscellaneous. Eric turned the big 3-0 last week. Eric chose to go out to eat at Ruby Tuesday's. We don't usually take the kids there so they were excited. We ate out on the patio and enjoyed the nice weather. All Eric wanted was money. So that's what he got.

After I picked up Kylie from Kindergarten yesterday we went to Willow Park. They loved looking at all of the animals especially the momma duck with babies. After we got ice cream and then went home to rest. Kylie had her last day of school today and Tyler's is tomorrow. I'm excited for no homework for awhile!
This is what we woke up to this morning. All of a sudden a horrible storm hit. We had lots of hail and rain. It was pounding on the windows so hard I thought they were going to break.

If you look close you can see a whole bunch of our wood chips got taken all the way down the sidewalk to the bottom of the street. Other than that and my flowers looking beat up....we were lucky. Some of our neighbors had water in their basements so we are very grateful.
