Thankful for.....

I guess I'm kind-of in a blogging slump. It just seems like life is so crazy lately especially with work. I have just felt bummed out for a couple of weeks and I don't know why. I think it has a lot to do with the season change. I'm such a summer person and all of this cold, kids being inside, getting dark early, etc gets to me. I got home from work tonight and we decided to make a gratitude turkey. We did this in sharing time on Sunday and I think it turned out well. All of us wrote four or five things that we were thankful for on a feather. We then each said ours and put them on the turkey. I realized after we were done that I felt better and not so grumpy. I guess sometimes we have to stop and think about all of the good things in life.
On another note, my friend/pinching your pennies website told me about this huge clock at Deseret Book that was 70% off. I got it for $40 instead of the original price of $130. We put it above our fireplace and I love it.

So here is my attempt at TRYING to get some pics of the kids for our christmas card. They didn't turn out too well but then again, I'm not an expert.

This is what we did on Friday, ALL DAY! We cleaned our cold storage and our regular storage room. We went through every box and then bought a larger shelf to put our food storage on. This is what our food storage looks like now! Can I just say that I love organization?

On Wednesday the girls, my mom, and I all went to Disney on Ice. We went last year and really enjoyed it. This year....It sucked! The stories weren't as good and I found myself watching everything around me and not the show. The important part is that the girls enjoyed it and it is always fun to do something without the boys!

I've been Tagged!

I've been tagged by my bff Crystal to write some of my quirks. Some of you already know these and some you probably don't.
1-I have to fall asleep on my stomach. I can't get into a good sleep unless I'm face down with my pillow kind of folded under. When I wake up I am almost always on my side or back. I also can't fall asleep if Eric is touching me. Even if it's just his leg, it drives me crazy! Eric likes to put his leg or arm around me at night and I just have to tell him, no way.
2-I can't live without my planner. I keep it in my purse at all times and write everything in it. When I work, Eric works, appointment's, payday, lessons, overtime, exercise, etc. I also have our budget in there too and look at it almost everyday. I also have to have our checkbook balanced. It's a part of my anal behavior.
3-I have talked with my neighbors at length about this one. I can't have any food on my plate touching each other. I have always been this way and I can't explain it. When I was younger I would even wipe my fork in between different foods. I am getting a little better and now I just lick.
4-I always have to have something to look forward to. I think this is why I love to plan trips. I love having something to get excited about. Sometimes the everyday life gets depressing. Vacations rejuvenate me and love to look forward to them.
5-I love a good bargain. Every week I look at all of the food ads, my coupons, etc and plan out where I need to go. I have been a part of pinching your pennies and I highly recommend it. People post online deals, grocery deals, deals around town, etc. This is where I have found the majority of our Christmas shopping and have stuck to $50/kid. I already have Kylie and Kenadie's costumes for next year. I also buy my kids clothes a year ahead of time. I already have coats for all of my kids that I bought last winter. I think because of this I save a ton of money. One of my main quirks is that I can remember how much I paid for every item. I remember how much I paid for pants that I bought two years ago. I try to get Eric excited about it and tell him how much I saved but he just doesn't get it. Men.
Now It's your turn!

Halloween

We had a fun time on Halloween this year. I honestly think it is one of the best so far! Tyler was batman, Kylie a pirate, Kenadie Snow White, and Easton a ninja. I dressed up like an old lady with these huge, hanging boobs (not my own might I add) and Eric was Indiana Jones. This was the first year actually taking the kids door to door. It was fun to see them all run from house to house together. We had a ton of kids this year come to our house and we ran out of candy. We had to start taking from our kids own buckets. My kids have been on a sugar high since. When I woke up Saturday morning all of the kids were awake eating candy for breakfast. They decided to let me sleep in so they could eat all the candy they wanted. (eric was doing overtime) Halloween is my favorite holiday and I've already bought plenty of stuff for next year.
