Summertime

This week has been so crazy! I am so glad that school is out, the weather is getting warmer, and summer is coming. It is my favorite time of the year. Today I think we were outside all day. I finally got all of my flowers planted but we still need to get bark and do our final raking before we powerseed. We got some good news that Eric is finally moving to beginning of the week starting June 8th! He will have every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday off and every other Wednesday. I will have to rearrange my work schedule but that is ok. Eric's birthday went well yesterday even though he had to work. Tyler was so funny, he asked me how old Eric was. I said 29. Then I said "that's old, isn't it?" Tyler said, "no, you have to be 37 to be old" I don't know where he got that from but I thought it was pretty funny!

Happy Birthday Eric!

Today is Eric's 29th Birthday! Boy, he is getting old:) Anyone that know's Eric thinks he is just an awesome guy. How did I get so lucky? These are some things that are so special about him:
He makes me laugh every single day
He is very smart
He can fix almost anything
He has the bluest eyes and very, very long eyelashes
He is strong and that comes in handy
He is an awesome dad and is the fun parent
He makes some really good ramen noodles (from Kenadie)
He loves to teach our kids how to play sports (and video games)
He loves animals, especially our kitty
He has taken ALL four kids to walmart grocery shopping
He is very good about letting me go on trips and girl getaways
He works hard to provide for us
He quit his job of ten years and works 12 shifts so our kids don't have to go to daycare
He will do almost anything(which gets really annoying sometimes)
Most people think he is quiet but sometimes I have to tell him to stop talking so I can go to bed!
He calls me every night that he works to ask me how my night went
He has handshakes that he does with each of our kids
He can play the guitar well
So you can tell he is just a great husband, dad, and friend!

Memorial Day

Today we both had work off so we made sure we got out of town! We decided to go to SLC and go to the gateway but it was raining so hard this morning. We stopped in Layton and went to the mall there and by the time we got out the rain had stopped. We drove the rest of the way and were able to walk around for a little bit before the rain started again! Oh well, what can you do. The girls each got a bear at build a bear workshop and they loved it. They both picked PJ's and got to give them a bath, name it, etc. Kylie named her bear Alisa and Kenadie named her's Natalie. So cute. I wish I would of brought the camera! Tyler got a new star war's video game and his favorite part was going to the planitarium. The kids each got to pick astronaut ice cream and walk around to the exhibits. We stopped in Brigham and got a bunch of plants for our yard. Finally. I am amazed at how much it costs. We spent over three hundred dollars and we didn't even get any tree's. We were able to plant in our front flower beds before it started to rain again. I hope we can get our grass in soon. Now to the start of another week!

Randomness

Kylie had her surgery on tuesday and it went really well. She came back thrashing and screaming but finally calmed down after 20 minutes. When we got home I made her get in bed but she just wanted to play. She is one tough kid! She has only complained of pain a couple of times and I had to force her to be in the house for two days. Yesterday I let her go to the park and play with friends. She was acting totally normal and whenever I asked her if she was in pain she shook her head no. My son on the other hand, came home from school limping with his pant leg pulled up. I asked him what was wrong and he showed me a scrape on his knee with a tiny drop of blood. He limped for two whole hours around the house! Thank goodness it was Kylie and not Tyler that had surgery. Grandma Swanson brought Kylie a cute magnetic doll dress up set. While I made dinner Eric played dolls with her and it was so cute. He is such a good dad!

We got a new little kitty named Eddie. I am such a sucker for kittens. We now have two cats and a dog. Plus four kids. That is a lot of things for me to take care of. Anyways, the kids love him and he is a sweetie. Kylie likes to wrap him up in a blanket and carry him around like a baby. She reminds me of me when I was little.

I'm Back!

Well, it's been awhile since I've posted so I will update a little. I went to scrapaway on thursday thru saturday. For those of you who don't know what that is, a group of 12 women go to a huge farmhouse in Heber and we just scrapbook for three days. The best part is that there is a lady who cooks all of our meals, cleans, washes dishes, etc. It is so much fun and am very thankful that I was invited back. I got caught up and did 56 layouts. My husband was awesome and stayed home from work. He took the kids to the park, actually made a meal, and the house was pretty clean when I got home. He is the best and actually supports my hobby. I am not looking forward to this next week. Eric has to work 60 hours this week due to he had to trade days of work so I could leave last week. Eric is also getting two crowns done tomorrow and Kylie is having surgery on tuesday. Then I have to get my full time work in also. Oh well, some weeks are just like that. I used to think it was harder when your kids are young but it really is more juggling the older they get!

Surgery

Well, we found out today that Kylie needs to have surgery. She has had ear infections, not a ton, but enough to be a bother since she was a toddler. The past six months we've noticed that her hearing has decreased. Then, at her preschool they had people from the university come and screen for hearing/learning/speech disabilities. Kylie failed both of her hearing tests so we made an appt with Dr Wood. Even in the past few weeks I've noticed her hearing getting even worse and when my mom watched her she noticed it to. Dr. Wood was so awesome and said that she has fluid that looks like "snot" behind her ear drum. He also noticed that she breathes completely out of her mouth and probably needs her adnoids (is that how you spell it?) out too. Then he noticed her tonsils are on the larger side. He said we could wait but would probably need to get them out later. So, she is having surgery on May 20th. This will be my first child to have surgery. Even though I'm a nurse it is still different when it's your child. I am happy though that we are taking care of this before school. I had my tonsils out when I was 12 and I know it won't be fun for her.
We also have been raking our yard and it was just getting look nice then it had to rain like crazy! Since we live on a hill it has made all sorts of nice trails through our yard. Oh well, we needed something to do. Right?

Big Boy Bed

Well, I think we hit a major milestone today! No more cribs! It has been seven years and through four kids. We bought Easton his "big boy bed" and set it up. I was so excited to use his new bedding from pottery barn. So cute and I think it can grow with him. He was so excited to sleep in it tonight.

Today we got our final leveling done on our yard and our rocks raked. We spent a few hours this evening going around the edges and pulling weeds. We still have a ways to go but at least there is a light at the end of the tunnel! We our getting our curbing done on Saturday and hopefully hydroseed it next week. We went to look at tree's and shrubs today and I can't believe how much things cost. I knew it would cost a few hundred dollars but one tree was $160. We only want a few trees but still! Thank goodness we saved some money from tax return.
We decided to do a trip to San Diego in October over UEA week. We are going to drive and see Seaworld, Zoo, and Legoland. We are planning a major trip to Florida in appr a yr and do the whole Disneyworld thing and visit Eric's dad. I just thought we wouldn't want to do Seaworld at that time and I know the kids would totally love it. The more vacation's I take the more I want to go on!

Can't sleep

Oh, the curse of being like my dad! I woke up when Eric got home this morning at 5:30am and I couldn't go back to sleep. I tried for about an hour then decided to just get up. I did scrapbook one page but then I decided I needed to update the blog. This past week has been same as usual. Work was hard this week and I ended up giving my visits away on thursday and friday. I think I just am burnt out. I know, I know I was just on vacation but sometimes I think vacations wear you out even more! Eric worked a lot this past week and when he was home he was working in the yard. We put up a little retaining wall, since our yard is kind of on a hill, and we our getting our rocks raked tomorrow. Hopefully we can do curbing later this week or next and then hydroseed. Yeah!
Does it ever seem like things all break or need replacing at the same time? Eric needs a new cell phone, since his got lost in California, the car needs new tires, the van had to get another new tire, Easton needs a bed, our tv in our room broke, our dvd player broke, and Eric needs two crowns. Is that enough?

I've been going through all of my parents photo albums and scanning pics of me growing up. It has been my goal for a long time to scrapbook my childhood so hopefully I can get started on it in the near future. He is just a few pics:
